● What is MYKA Place

A nurturing haven of calm, connection and care

At Myka Place, we believe that every child and young person deserves a place to just be — to feel safe, seen, and supported exactly as they are. Created with love by Ability in Disability, and backed by the values and heart of our parent company Kalon Meraki, Myka Place offers more than respite. We offer a second home, filled with compassion, understanding, and joy.

Whether your child is visiting for a few hours or a few nights, our team is here to provide thoughtful, tailored care that honours each young person’s unique needs, routines and personality.

Myka Place is a purposefully designed respite home in Nedlands, WA, created specifically for children and young people with disabilities and complex support needs. Our space has been carefully curated to feel warm, welcoming and comforting — more like a home than a service.

We offer short-term and overnight respite, with a focus on:

• Sensory-safe environments
• Individualised routines and familiar comforts
• Gentle transitions and clear communication
• A team of support workers who genuinely care

Whether it’s a first experience away from home or part of a regular schedule of respite, Myka Place is built to meet children where they are — with patience, presence, and playfulness.

Meet Elefly Our Comforting Companion

Every guest at Myka Place is welcomed by Elefly, our part-elephant, part-butterfly mascot who symbolises strength, gentleness and transformation. Elefly is a comforting presence for many of our young visitors, helping to ease anxieties and support emotional regulation.

Elefly features in our rooms, sensory kits, bedtime stories and even our welcome packs — making every stay feel a little more magical.
